Viña Porta began in 1954 when the Gutiérrez-Porta family arrived in Chile from Spain and settled in the Alto Cachapoal Valley, south of the historic city of Rancagua.
The family originally sold its wine to the traditional Chilean wineries, but in 1991 they decided to launch their own line of wines under the name, “Casa Porta,” thereby becoming one of Chile’s first boutique wineries.

In 1997 Viñedos y Bodegas Córpora SA acquired Porta. Under new administration, Porta developed a new orientation based on the concept of “terroir” and focused on the production of fine wines for demanding consumers.

Today, Viña Porta’s plantations are strategically Vina Siegel winerylocated in Chile’s most important wine regions: Aconcagua, Maipo, Alto Cachapoal, Colchagua, and Bío-Bío. Porta’s vineyards are planted to varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Carménère, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir, each planted in its proper terroir under the supervision of highly qualified winegrowers.
