Prosper Maufoux is a negociant-eleveur that was founded in 1860. Based in Santenay, the southern-most village in the Cote D’Or, it is adjacent to the great vineyards of the Montrachets, Meursault and Volnay. The wines have been imported into the United States since 1947 through the House of Burgundy, Inc., a New York firm owned by Mr. Robert F. Fairchild . In 1994, Mr. Fairchild purchased the Maufoux firm and oversees the selection, winemaking production, distribution, and importing of the wines into the United States.
