Clos de Beauregard Muscadet
- Muscadets are among the oldest appellation controlée wines in France.
This lovely wine originates from the Guilbaud family vineyards (owned since the Middle Ages) in Sevre et Maine. The appellation is named after the two rivers that flow through the vineyards: la petite Maine and la Serve Nataise. Producing their Muscadet "sur lie“ ,which means that the wine is bottled without racking or filtering, it is fresh, clean, fruity and dry.
Selected by Ed McCarthy as one of his top Loire wines in the June 2006 Beverage Media he wrote: …..Marine aromas, with tastes of the sea; minerally, slightly chalky flavors; crisp, earthy, nutty; hints of tart apple.
